WindRider 17 Lazy Jack
- Allows you to hold the boom up while droping the main sail
- Provides some amount of cradle for the main sail to rest in
Consists of:
- 3 plastic fairleads (with rivets) that attach to the bottom of the WR17 boom
- 2 stainless steel rings
- 4 stainless steel snaphooks
- 2 (1/4") 11' lines
- 1 (1/4") 28' line
Lazy Jack Installation and Assembly Instructions
- Using a measuring tape find the one quarter, half and three quarters points of the boom
- Mark these points on the bottom side of the boom. This is where the fairleads will be installed
- The fairleads should be installed so that their eyes open toward port and starboard sides
- Using each fairlead as a guide, tap and pre-drill the holes to install with the included rivets
- Next, tie the 4 stainless steel snap-hooks to the ends of the 11' lines
- Connect one end of each of the 11' lines to the bow shackle on the mast hound
- At the other end of each 11' line connect the snap-hook to its own stainless steel ring
(*For the next part the mast will need to be raised with the boom connected and sail raised to get the correct spacing*)
- Tie one end of the 28' line to stainless steel ring "A" (Port)
- Run the line through the front fairlead under the boom and back up to the opposite stainless steel ring "B" (Starboard)
- From ring "B" run the line down through the middle fairlead and back to ring "A"
- Next, run the line down through the rear fairlead under the boom
- Finally, tie off the end of the line to stainless ring "B"
